More GCD Studios Halloween Goodies + Tutorial!!

I'm back again with GCD Studios fun and a TUTORIAL! I can not tell you how much fun I've had this year creating Halloween decor! Look around your house and see what you can repurpose into a holiday decor item. That is what I did here. I had this candlestick holder that was used at my oldest daughter's wedding reception. It was just hiding out in the storage closet not being used for anything. I thought it would make a cool vintage Halloween decoration. I spray painted it black and then added the roses made with the oh so sweet double sided GCD Studios paper and a little bit of fabric scraps. Here is a tutorial on how to make the roses:

1. Punch out (or use a die cut machine) three flowers.

2. Make slight cuts in the indentation of the petals toward center of flower.

3. Curl ends of flowers.

4. Layer flowers together and glue in place. Use a different side of the patterned paper for each layer.

5. Create fabric flower by taking a 12 inch long strip of fabric scrap approx. 1/4 wide and wrapping and twisting the fabric into a rose shape. Add a few drops of hot glue as you wrap.

6. Glue the fabric flower into the inside of layered patterned paper flowers.

Now you have fab flowers to add to any project. I think they add a real nice touch to my candle holder. I added to lime green ribbon to the candle holder, along with some cream gauze and then added the black ribbon around my candlesticks.

Have a Happy Halloween ALL!! *and a fun time crafting, too! Hugs, Cheryl
