I've been lurking at Moxie Fab World for quite awhile now and decided to just go ahead and jump in and participate in one of their challenges. I really loved the Tuesday Trigger that Courtney Baker provided. I thought the green and gray colors of the pillow would make a cool twist for a Christmas card. I have a few more Christmas cards I need to make sooooooooooo....I came up with this. Instead of owls, like on the pillow I went with reindeer. Thanks Courtney for the cool Tuesday Trigger and thank you Moxie Fab World for all the inspiration.
I love this time of year as the holidays approach. It just seems my heart naturally turns to the things I am thankful for. At the top of that list is my family. I'm pretty much guessing we all feel that way. My family members are my very best friends and I loooooooooooove being with them. I'm not a real fan of the whole empty nester thing...I don't even like the fact that I'm close. On the flip side, however, how can I be disappointed with the way things have turned out. My two oldest daughters are married to two great guys who love them very much. They have given me the three most precious grandchildren of all time. My third daughter is serving as a missionary for our church. Her letters home fill my heart with peace and comfort and gratitude. Our son is in college and preparing to also serve as a missionary. Our youngest daughter is still at home and I savor (or try to) every moment she is still with us. I look forward to the wonderful things life has in store for her. Yes, I am soooooooooo thankful for my family. I am also thankful for the opportunity to work as a DT member for 2 Sketches 4 You. Laura and Kazan are THE BEST! Don't ya just LOVE their sketches. Such a great sketch by Kazan this week. I flipped it. When it came out of my printer it was flipped and that is just the way I worked it. Our sponsor is Cutting Cafe printable stamps. You are going to love how versatile they are. The sentiment on my card was printed out and then punched. To make the pumpkin I printed out the stamp and then cut out and added the patterned paper to it. You can use them in so many ways. Hope to see you all playing along this week. *and be sure and try out for the DT position!! Hugs to you all and enjoy this holiday season and go give your family a great big hug!

Joy is what I'm feeling in my heart this morning! I had the BEST weekend ever! I was able to spend my dad's 90th birthday with him. No that isn't a typo...90th birthday! My daddy is my hero and to be able to have that tender mercy from the Lord to enjoy these 90 years with him is an indescribable blessing. He is so fun and loving. Everyone just loves to be around him. He was so touched by the number of people that came to celebrate with him...flying from all over the country. None of us would have missed it for anything. What a joy that we had this wonderful reunion to celebrate his birthday and not wait for his funeral. That is too often the case. So I ask a favor of you all today. Celebrate the joy of your loved ones. Call a parent or someone special in your life and tell them you love them. Life is too short not to. Thank them for all they have done for you. I want to thank you all so much for celebrating WCMD with all of us at 2S4Y! Wasn't it fun!! Thank you all so much for your oh so kind comments. I'm still smiling from reading them all. Congratulations to all the winners and to Diana (dj-enns) for winning the Creative Cuts and More prize package from this blog. Remember you can win another prize from our challenge this week from our wonderful sponsor Sakura of America. They are so generous to us at 2 Sketches 4 You. You are going to love working with Laura's fabulous sketch! Come play along and celebrate the JOY in your life! Hugs, Cheryl

“Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he’s been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to just be people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old time rail journey…delays…sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling burst of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.” ― Gordon B. Hinckley
