You can never have too many *2S4Y*

You can never have too many birthday cards on hand. I give at least two birthday cards a week away so it is nice to have some already made. With that in mind I used this week's sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You to make a birthday card. Thanks for this week's sketch Kazan! It is wonderful!

**Holy Cow!! *Ultimate Card Showdown Top 10!!!!***

I literally had to pick myself up from off the floor when I heard I had landed a spot in the Top 10 of the Ultimate Card Showdown at 2 Sketches 4 You!!! The cards from day one have all been A*MAZ*ING and I have had so much fun each and every week!! Thank you again to Laura and Kazan and all the judges for running this fun, fun challenge and especially to Laura and Kazan for providing such a great blog! My card this week for the Ultimate Card Showdown is for my daughter's best friend, Emily. She has been in China for the past five months helping to teach English to the little Chinese children. She comes home on Saturday and we are all so excited to have her back home. I hope this card conveys the feelings I have of HOME. We sang the song "There is Beauty All Around When There's Love At Home" on Sunday at church and it has just stayed with me the past few days. I finally decided that it should be the theme of this card. It is those lyrics that are in the center of the sun. I wanted to create something that shows all the love, beauty, warmth and sense of well being that I feel when I think of the word home. I'm good friends with Emily's mom and I know all the prayers that she has offered up in Emily's behalf while she's been gone. I know the love her family feels for her. I know all the love my family feels for her. It is my hope that she will feel all of that with this card. I hope she feels all in her heart what this card says and all that it couldn't possible say. WELCOME HOME EMILY!!!!

Happy Birthday Stephanie!

It is my birthday buddy Stephanie's birthday today!! I just wanted to give her a shout out! She is the sweetest ever and always so thoughtful even though her life is so full!
She said she didn't have any plans for herself today, but I hope she made some and has the most super fantastic birthday ever! I made this card for her using the terrific sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You...thanks for the terrific sketch Laura...and HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPHANIE!!!!!

Ultimate Card Showdown Round #3 Yipppeee!!!

I'm absolutely thrilled to have moved to the next round of the Ultimate Card Showdown at 2 Sketches 4 You!!!!! It's always so fun to work with the sketches that Laura and Kazan showcase and it is just the FUNNEST ever to be able to win some prizes, too! I thought this round's sketch was so fun. As soon as I saw it I thought lollipop. Sooooooo, with this round's sketch it is Christmas in June for me. I'm so happy to have my first Christmas card done for this year. I'm a notorious Christmas procrastinator, so it really is a huge deal for me to be getting a jump start on this. Normally, I don't get around to doing anything for Christmas until the end of November. It seems fitting to have a card for this round be a Christmas card, since it was just last Christmas that I got bit by the card bug. I got a wild hair to create my Christmas cards and I'm so glad I did. Every time I make a card I feel happy. I hope I've been able to spread a little joy, too.

Happy Birthday to my hubby!!!!

Today is my hubby's birthday and he can't be home with our family. I feel bad that he is alone on his birthday. I wanted to do something for him to show him our feelings for him. If someone asked me to come up with one word to describe my husband it would be GOOD. He is just GOOD...through and through. I added a few other adjectives to the layout, but they really all equal the same thing too..GOOD. He is the best man I know and everything in my life is better because of him. Love you, hon! Happy Birthday!!

Ultimate Card Showdown Week #2 Woohoo!!!

I'm so excited to be able to post this!! I feel so lucky to be one of the 30 Finalists in the Ultimate Card Showdown at 2 Sketches 4 You and to have had the opportunity to create a card for this week using the beautiful sketch. I LOVE all the gorgeous cards created so far from the other finalists and can't wait to see the rest. So this is my take on Kazan's sketch this week for the Ultimate Card Showdown.

Just "Poppin In" With Kazan's Sketch 28

I have to say I just LOVE Kazan's sketch this week over at 2 Sketches 4 You...and even more than I love Kazan's sketch, I looooooooove the card she created with it. It is seriously one of the cutest cards EVER!!! The whole DT came up with some amazing creations. If you need some inspiration, you should hop on over there. I'm still working on my card for the Ultimate Card Showdown. I'm still in shock to be one of the 30 finalists. I did, however, finish my card for Kazan's Sketch #28.

Ty's Graduation and Eagle Scout Court of Honor

Ty is now a high school graduate...sigh. It is something I try really hard to NOT think about. It just gets me misty each time I do. He actually graduated 2 1/2 week ago and the reason I haven't posted until now was not the misty eyed thing, but rather that I simply didn't have any pictures to post until now. It wasn't for lack of taking pictures, either. We took hundreds of pictures of these two events, but unfortunately my memory card went on the fritz and in the middle of viewing them, all of a sudden they were GONE...ALL gone. Ugh! We tried to recover them in every way we knew how, but NOTHING. Double UGH! My daughter just posted some pictures she took of these two events on her blog, so I basically borrowed these from her. Thank You Angela. Both events were really lovely. We had the Eagle Court of Honor on May 20th and the graduation was on May 21st. I made it pretty well through the court of honor until we showed a slideshow of Ty through the years...yep, we could have called it Ty through the tears after that. At the graduation the minute they played Pomp & Circumstance and all the graduates started entering the auditorium got me going. I'm getting choked up now just thinking about it. It's probably better that I've had a couple of weeks before I posted these pictures...or I would have been a blubbering mess all over again.
