Hi all! I'm super excited to show you a preview of Kathy Martin's stamp "Frosty Friend". It won't go on sale until next Tuesday at 2Peas, but it is just too cute to keep under wraps until then....soooooo we wanted to give everyone a preview. I gotta tell you I just LOVE this little snow guy (which because it is a digital image you could easily make into a snow girl if you wanted)! I specifically bought the little journal that I found in the $1 bin at Michaels because I thought it would go perfectly with my frosty friend. Then I made a little card to match. Hope you enjoy this little preview! Hugs, Cheryl
Hi all! I'm back again to another challenge brought to you by City Crafter Challenge Blog. Our hostess this week is Linda and I gotta say I LOOOOOOOOOVE her challenge. I'm back again with GCD Studios fun and a TUTORIAL! I can not tell you how much fun I've had this year creating Halloween decor! Look around your house and see what you can repurpose into a holiday decor item. That is what I did here. I had this candlestick holder that was used at my oldest daughter's wedding reception. It was just hiding out in the storage closet not being used for anything. I thought it would make a cool vintage Halloween decoration. I spray painted it black and then added the roses made with the oh so sweet double sided GCD Studios paper and a little bit of fabric scraps. Here is a tutorial on how to make the roses:
1. Punch out (or use a die cut machine) three flowers.
2. Make slight cuts in the indentation of the petals toward center of flower.
3. Curl ends of flowers.
4. Layer flowers together and glue in place. Use a different side of the patterned paper for each layer.
5. Create fabric flower by taking a 12 inch long strip of fabric scrap approx. 1/4 wide and wrapping and twisting the fabric into a rose shape. Add a few drops of hot glue as you wrap.
6. Glue the fabric flower into the inside of layered patterned paper flowers. Now you have fab flowers to add to any project. I think they add a real nice touch to my candle holder. I added to lime green ribbon to the candle holder, along with some cream gauze and then added the black ribbon around my candlesticks.
Have a Happy Halloween ALL!! *and a fun time crafting, too! Hugs, Cheryl

It's back to Christmas folks (I promise I'll show you some Thanksgiving in here sometime soon) and yeah for Digital Doodles and helping me get started with my Christmas cards! My first ones of the season *and now I can't wait to make more*! I combined Kathy's Night Before Christmas digital stamp set with her Home Sweet Home digi stamp to create this little Christmas village card set. You can find these sets HERE! Do you make all your Christmas cards...some...and have you started yet? Hope you are feeling merry and bright this day! Hugs, Cheryl
Yeah...today is another challenge from City Crafter Challenge Blog. Our Hostess this week is Ros and the theme of her challenge is Take Flight. As she loves birds and butterflies ... This weeks' challenge is to make a card/project that has something with 'Wings' on it. This can be a bird (I used an owl), butterfly, bee, fairy ... anything you want ...as long as it has wings. I combined mine with my love of fall. Is there a more spectacular time of year?! I just love all the colors. You can find the challenge HERE! Our fabulous sponsor this week is Pixie Dust Paperie. They are generously offering a $15 gift certificate! We also at City Crafter are celebrating the birthday of sweet Linda Robinson today! Happy Birthday sweet Linda!! So make sure you go over and leave her some birthday greetings! Before I go I just want to share some fall photos we took a couple of weeks ago. So take flight on the wings of fabulous fall! Have a good one all! Hugs, Cheryl
Hi all!! Soooo excited to share with you my Halloween Crafting using my GCD Studios goodies! Our theme this month was Halloween with the challenge to use black, cream and only one other color. I decided to go with lime green. I just love the contrast with the black and cream. I have to tell you a little trick about making these treats...The candy jars are vases and candlestick holders that have been glued together. I had all of these things just laying around the house not being used and now they make the most fun candy jars. You can find both vases and candlestick holders at the dollar store or thrift stores to make a very inexpensive, fun holiday decor item. Then jazz it up! This is where my fun GCD Studios products came in! I had soooooo much fun using the GCD Studios tool on the chipboard pieces. It gives them just a little more flair. Then just paint them, gloss them, add a few doodads...mount them on the pleated circles...attach to a ribbon...and there you go...instant holiday FUN!! Happy Crafting All! Hugs, Cheryl
...and the Halloween madness continues! I made this project for the Cards challenge to make a Halloween tag. I thought Kathy Martin's "witching you a happy halloween" sentiment from her Happy Howl-loween kit would be perfect to go on the tag to make this witches hat decor item. I used Laura's sketch 62 as a basis for the tag. So I witch you all a happy halloween and happy halloween crafting!
Well, we're back to Halloween again! haha! I'm telling ya, you are not going to know if you are coming or going for awhile...I'm just going to bounce right through all the holidays! I felt in the Halloween mood so I created this lo of my dd when she was little. It is one of my favorite pics of her. The little Halloween scene at the bottom was created using several of Kathy Martin's digital doodle kits. Hope I'm not bouncing you around too much! Have a fantabulous day! Hugs, Cheryl
I'm pleased to introduce you to Kathy's newest digital kit "Night Before Christmas". I love the traditional, warm, cozy feel of this kit. It truly does make me feel like I do on the night before Christmas. I altered the photo of our Christmas tree on this lo. I was hoping to acheive that vintage-y Christmas look of the poem. You can find Kathy's kit HERE. I told you all I'm in the holiday mood. You'll be seeing all sorts of holiday items from me in the next few months...Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween...all so fun! Have you started to get ready for the holidays yet? I know I need to start working on my Christmas cards now. I have thought about printing off this layout to use for a Christmas card. Have a fab day! Hugs, Cheryl
I'm counting down the days for holiday fun as the hostess of City Crafter Challenge Blog this week! Our theme this week is Hooray for the Holidays because I LOOOOOOOVE holidays...ONE AND ALL!! I had a blast creating my Halloween advent calendar. You can find the challenge fun HERE! We are generously sponsored this week by Blackleaf Studios . “Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he’s been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to just be people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old time rail journey…delays…sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling burst of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.” ― Gordon B. Hinckley
