2 Sketches 4 You Laura #46 + How to make the sweater flower

I don't know about all of you, but I'm ready for some WARM weather! Maybe that is the reason when I saw Laura's sketch, all I could see was a surf board. I saw someone else make that same comment. I grew up in southern Calif. only seven blocks from the beach and I'm longing for that beach weather again. At least I can look at this card and think warm thoughts. haha!! Hopefully all of you are staying warm and getting a bit of sunshine today. At any rate, I can always keep some sunshine in my heart, right?! Some of you asked on my last post how I made the sweater flower. It is the easiest thing ever. You just cut off about 3/4 to one inch of the bottom of the sleeve and then make a basting stitch around one of the edges and pull your threads tight to gather. Make a few stitches in the back to hold it together. Then add a brad or a button or another flower or whatever to the center. You can make a TON of these flowers from one sweater. Just keep going up the sleeve and cutting off more one inch pieces. So easy!

2 Sketches 4 You Kazan #46

Yeah, I got to play along with 2S4Y this week! I thought I wasn't going to make it there for awhile. I adore Kazan's sketch and really wanted to try it so I'm glad I found a little spot of time this morning to work with it. The flower is made from cutting off the end of a sleeve of a sweater that had shrunk. This is for my store of just because cards.

Please Bless Amanda on Her Mission in Pigsaway

Some of you know that my daughter is currently serving as a missionary for our church in Paraguay. All of our family prays for her and it really touched my heart and definitely tickled me when my oldest daughter posted the following on her blog today. It is the prayer my little grandson offered last night:
Tyler's Prayer:
Dear Heabenly Father,
thankful for this day, thankful for our blessings, thank you for our home, thank you for the store...but mommy says no we can't go today, thankful for President Monson, thank you for Nephi and Sam, bless the scriptures, bless our blessings, bless the couch, starts to mumble off, [please bless amanda]-that's me trying to redirect the prayer-,with her mission in pigsaway (Paraguay), thank you for inbestugators (her investigators).
In the name of Jesus Christ, amen

Sorry to steal your post Angela, but to me, this was too cute not to share. I also thought I would post the pictures she sent to us last week. These are the first pictures we've gotten from her. When we talked to her on Christmas she said all the sister missionaries she knows there had been robbed for their cameras. Yikes! I told her we were just fine without pictures! It was a treat to get these, though.

**Just as an aside...if you haven't checked out Kazan's sketch this week at 2S4Y, you need to...FABULOUS! I'm definitely going to be playing along. And congrats to the new DT members!!! Woohoo!! A big hug and shout out to my sweet blogging friend Kay Sibley who is now a part of the team!! I'm so excited for her and all the new DT!
Congrats!

Last Post For 2 Sketches 4 You! Waaaah!

My sixth month term as a design team member for 2 Sketches 4 You is now over....I can't believe it! Time just has a way of scooting by and leaving you a little breathless. I can't even tell you how much I enjoyed working with Laura and Kazan! They are amazing! I will so miss my association with the rest of the DT members...they are so beyond incredibly talented! Sankari and Ashley are also saying goodbye to the DT. These amazing ladies will be sorely missed. I'm saying goodbye to the 2 Sketches 4 You Design Team, but not to 2 Sketches 4 You. Instead of my posts being on Monday, they will just be later in the week as I play along each week. I hope to see you there. One of my favorite things is to look at all the creations that everyone makes for the sketches. The loveliness of the cards and other projects made for those sketches...most weeks over a hundred...leave me slack jawed. I can't see what you all make of Laura's sketch this week! Isn't it cool? So good-bye to the 2S4Y DT, but not to 2S4Y! Love you all!

Vintage Valentine 2S4Y + We have a winner!!

Good Monday Morning all!! It is 2 Sketches 4 You day!! Woohoo!! Don't you just LOOOOOOOOVE this sketch from Kazan?!! The round shape is just fabulous I think. I adored the image from KLM Digi Stamps who is our sponsor this week. It brought back a lot of cherished memories for me. It reminded me of the illustrations in the books at my grandma's house. As soon as I saw it I was brought back to grandma's house...sitting on the couch reading stories, sipping hot cocoa, playing chinese checkers with her and just an overall feeling of being loved. What a great mood to be in when making a Valentine...feeling loved while you are expressing love. I LOVE IT!! haha!

Now to the winner of my blogiversary post......................................................................................................................................................................
It is........................................................................................................................................................................
Lauren!
Lauren your address to my email and I will get the prize package out to you.

Thank you all for celebrating with me and commenting to donate toward the hygiene kits. With you comments it is 6 more complete kits to send! Yeah!! I will post a picture as soon as I get the kits bought and together. In the meantime if you would like to see a picture of what the kits look like and some information of the relief going on in Haiti please go to ldsphilanthropies.org and browse around the site. I think you will be glad you did. Many wonderful things are taking place. It is so rewarding to in a small way to be a part of it.
